BREAKING: LAWMA Increases Price of Waste Disposal

The Lagos State Waste Management Agency, LAWMA has issued a circular indicating increase in the cost of waste disposal across the State going into the new year.
In a notice shared to customer in Lagos, Lawma through its PSP operators Service cited the current economic situation which has resulted into a high overhead cost, high cost of truck maintenance, etc as the reason for the increment which is expected to take effect from January 2021.
“We wish to appreciate our numerous customers for their patronage over the years, without you the business will not exist.
However due to the economic situation, we have been running at a loss; as a result of high overhead cost of diesel, truck maintenance etc, to mention but a few.
This has necessitated the increment in tariff which is ongoing throughout Lagos State.
The tariff increment will take effect as from January 2021. Please bear with us” the statement read.
Although the statement did not state the new rate, but most users of Lawma services across the state are already panicking.
The Lagos State Waste Management Agency is a Lagos State agency responsible for managing waste generated in Lagos state through a waste collection, transportation and disposal structure with a staff strength numbering about 1157.
It was founded in 1977.
