BREAKING: Police Council confirms Baba as Inspector-general of police

The Police Council on Friday has confirmed the appointment of Alkali Usman Baba as the Inspector General of Police.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, at the end of the meeting presided by President Muhammadu Buhari, said the appointment of Baba as IGP was unanimously confirmed.
He said Buhari directed the IGP to ensure insecurity in the country is brought to the barest minimum.
President Muhammadu Buhari on April 6, had appointed Usman Baba as acting police boss.
Prior to his appointment, Baba was a deputy inspector-general of police.
