By Adekunle Badmus

Men of Nigerian Police have taken over the Edo State House of Assembly complex in Benin City, the state capital.

The Policemen in their large numbers were placed at strategic locations around the building,

denying everyone from entering the complex.

Police said their aim is to forestall breakdown of laws and order from impending taking over of the complex.

The speaker had on Wednesday raised alarm over impending forceful takeover of the assembly by people he didn’t mention.

The assembly yesterday impeached the Deputy Speaker and elected another lawmaker as Deputy Speaker.
