Buhari has no solution to Nigeria’s problems —Soyinka

By Rasaq Adebayo

Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka has said President Muhammadu Buhari lacked the capacity to fix many problems facing Nigeria.

He expressed worries that the country is fast disintegrating under the current government.

He spoke during a news conference at Freedom Park, Lagos State, on Thursday.

He, however, advised Nigerians to look inward to solve problems in the country themselves rather than be waiting for the government.

“The problem here is that the government does not have a holistic grasp of the problems in Nigeria. If we are looking to this government for a solution, then it means we are lost.

“We are in a mess. This country is in a mess. It is disintegrating before our very eyes. This government is floundering”, Soyinka said.

Soyinka also hinted that  the solution to Nigeria’s challenges is a Sovereign National Conference, adding that ethnic groups in Nigeria should come together to discuss and agree on terms to live together as a nation.
