Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has alleged that the Obidient Movement is facing serious internal divisions ahead of the 2027 general election.

Bwala made the claim while commenting on recent developments within opposition circles and ongoing political realignments.

According to him, disagreements among members of the movement have created what he described as a deepening internal conflict.

“There is a silent civil war going on within the Obidient Movement,” Bwala said.

He argued that the divisions could affect the movement’s cohesion as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

The presidential aide also maintained that opposition groups would need to resolve their internal differences before presenting a united front against the ruling party.

The Obidient Movement emerged as a major political force during the 2023 presidential election campaign of Peter Obi.

Supporters of Obi have repeatedly dismissed claims of a major internal crisis, insisting that the movement remains focused on political mobilisation and electoral reforms.

Bwala’s remarks come amid increasing discussions over possible alliances and coalition arrangements among opposition leaders ahead of the next presidential election.
