The Annual Soul Winner program of Cardinal James Odumbaku’s Christ Ambassador Soul Winner’s Ministry recorded a death on Friday when the choir’s drummer slumped and died while performing.

The program is the biggest on the Church’s platform and usually hold in Lekki where an expanse of land was provided for the purpose by Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was Governor of Lagos state.

Following the entrance of the Covid era however, the program was moved to the Church’s premises where the 2021 edition held on Friday.

Unfortunately, the programme ended on a sour note, following the sudden death of Segun, a drummer in the Church’s choir.

The event was underway when Segun, who plays the ‘Omele’ drum suddenly collapsed on stage.

According to an eye witness, Segun had earlier complained that he was feeling a kind of heat from within, and shortly after, he slumped.

He was hurriedly picked up and was being rushed out of the church premises to the hospital when he gave up the ghost.

As soon as his death was confirmed, Cardinal Odumbaku, it was gathered, sent words to his relatives while a family member rushed to the church to pick the body to deposit in the mortuary.

Segun was about 40 years old. The father of 2 was a member of Odumbaku’s church for about ten years.
