Chelsea vs Burnley: Ziyech masterclass sinks Clarets

By Emmanuel Awosika

Summer signing Hakim Ziyech was in fine form for Chelsea in their match against Burnley, scoring one and assisting another as the Blues won 3-0.

Chelsea had come into the match with high expectations after scoring four goals in their win against Krasnodar FC in their Champions League match early this week.

And those expectations were met when Ziyech, playing his first league game for Chelsea, opened the scoring in the 26th minute after receiving a pass from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

This was Ziyech’s first goal for the Blues since signing for them in the last transfer window.

French defender Kurt Zouma scored another Chelsea goal in in the 63rd minute and his 3rd for the season after heading home a Mason Mount corner.

Ziyech then completed his masterclass by slotting through a pass to Timo Werner who put one past Pope to wrap up an emphatic away victory.

With his performance, Ziyech becomes the first Chelsea player to score in his first two starts for the club since Diego Costa in 2014.

Chelsea play next on Wednesday, November 4 as they host Ligue 1 side Rennes in their Champions League encounter.
