 Cross River Government Demolishes Houses Belonging To Kindappers In Calabar

As part of its fight against kidnapping, the Cross River State Government today demolished two houses owned by alleged kidnappers in the Calabar Municipal Area.

The first of the demolished buildings, located at 31 Akim Road, close to the University of Calabar, belonged to Nse Nse Otu a.k.a. The Lion. The second house was located along the popular Marian Road and belonged to Louis Bassey.

Both men were arrested along with four others in connection with the kidnapping of Ekwele Ignatius Abube, wife of Justice Ignatius Abube, and the murder of her aide last month.

Supervising the demolition efforts, Mr. Alfred Mboto, Permanent Secretary to the State Security Adviser, warned that the State Government wound tear down houses belonging to anyone arrested for kidnapping, cultism, or drug-related offences.

He reaffirmed the state’s policy of zero tolerance for crimes and promised that those involved in the kidnapping of the wife of Justice Abube would face justice in the court of law.
