DSS arrests Ade Basket, others over Ondo violence

The Department of State Security (DSS) has arrested major actors in the clashes that erupted in Akure, the Ondo State capital, from Saturday night till Sunday morning.

Sources revealed that, the security operatives went to town and began to raid the hide-outs of the miscreants who were allegedly working for All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Among the people arrested was Ade Basket and some miscreants under the leadership of the state Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NUTRW), popularly known as Idajo.

Currently, Idajo is on the run as he had got wind of the arrest of his followers and moves to get him arrested in connection with the heavy shootings.

Sources revealed that the miscreants took over Oba Adesida Road/Oyemekun Road, Obanla Street, Oke Ijebu, Isolo, Ijomu areas shooting sporadically all through the night without any intervention from the Police.
