DSS Issues Fresh Invite To Mailaifa

By Emmanuel Awosika

The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Obadiah Mailaifa for another round of questioning.

This comes just three days after Mailaifa was grilled for six hours by the DSS over his comments on radio alleging that a serving governor in the Northern part of Nigeria was a commander of Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Mailaifa confirmed reports of the DSS’ invitation in a WhatsApp message, where he said he would be standing with former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’Abba, who is set to appear before the DSS today.

The message reads partly:“We stand firmly with Comrade the Rt. Hon. Ghali Na’bba. Solidarity forever!

“Comrades kindly be notified that the Men in Black have invited me for a ‘chat’ yet again. I’m to appear before them at the Jos Command HQ of DSS at 12.00 noon today Monday. Solidarity forever!”

Earlier, we reported that Mailaifa had been asked to appear before a DSS panel after a video of him saying the government is responsible for the killings in Southern Kaduna.

His statements, he said, were informed by reports that a serving governor in Northern Nigeria was a leader of the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

He had arrived the DSS around 12pm and was not released until 7pm. He addressed journalists shortly after his release, saying he was not afraid to die for the sake of Nigerians.
