Edo: ‘We don’t want to see you’ — Gov’s aide warns Davido
The Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media to Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, Apostle Kassy Chukwu, has warned Nigerian singer Davido against expecting to perform in the state for the remainder of the governor’s tenure.
Chukwu made the statement in a video shared on YouTube by Peniel TV International Benin City, Nigeria, on Thursday.
The governor’s aide was reacting to the ongoing dispute between Davido and Okpebholo, which began after the singer criticised the governor over his comments about Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Chukwu said Davido should not expect to stage a performance in Edo State while Okpebholo remains governor.
The development followed Davido’s refusal to apologise for his remarks against the governor.
Davido had earlier shared what appeared to be Okpebholo’s West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result on his Instagram Story.
The singer later defended the publication during an interview, insisting that he had no reason to apologise to the Edo governor.
