EFCC arrests over 20 suspects during raid on Lagos apartment
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested more than 20 suspected internet fraudsters during a raid on an apartment in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
The suspects were apprehended during an early-morning operation carried out by operatives of the anti-graft agency.
The raid followed intelligence gathered by the commission on the activities of suspected cybercrime operators allegedly using the apartment as a base for their activities.
The EFCC said the suspects are currently being profiled, while electronic devices and other items recovered during the operation are undergoing forensic examination.
The commission is expected to prosecute suspects found to have cases to answer after the conclusion of investigations.
The latest arrests form part of the EFCC’s ongoing efforts to clamp down on internet fraud and other forms of financial crimes across the country.
