By Dayo Badmus,

The Saudi Arabia Supreme Court has declared Monday, 19 July, 2021 as the Arafat being the 9th day on the Islamic 12th month of Dhul Hijjah.

Thus, the day for the festival of sacrifice, Eid-l-Kabir will take place on Tuesday, 20 July, 2021 throughout the Muslim world.

According to the Saudi Supreme Court, Saturday, 10 July, 2021 is the last day of Dhul Qaddah, the 11th month in the Islamic calendar. Sunday, 11 July, 2021 marked the beginning of the 12th month hence the Hajj rites start on Sunday, 18 July, 2021 when pilgrims moved from Makkah to Muna and moved to Arafat early the following morning of 19 July, 2021 which is the Arafat Day.

At Arafat, they prayed and supplicate from morning till sunset where they observed their Zuhr and Asr prayers together during Asr time. Arafat is the place for serious supplication and prayers.

At Sunset, they moved to Muzdaliffa, where they will observe their Maghrib and Isha prayers and sleep over.

They picked the pebbles to be thrown at Devil statute at Muzdaliffa and proceeded to the Jamarat, site of throwing the stones the following which is the 10th of Dhul Hijjah.

It is after the first round of throwing the stone that the sacrifice is made with the slaughtering of rams which coincides with the Eid-l-Kabir celebration throughout the Islamic world.
