Emeizy Recalls the Journey Behind His Debut Single “Money In The Bank”

Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Patrick Emerald Iruoghene, popularly known as Emeizy, released his debut single, “Money In The Bank,” on June 10, 2023, marking an important milestone in his musical journey.

Interestingly, the song was originally written in 2017, years before Emeizy entered a professional recording studio. During that period, songwriting was largely a personal passion. He could write several songs in a single day despite having no formal coach or immediate plans to record them.

When he eventually had the opportunity to enter a studio in 2023, he returned to his collection of written songs and selected “Money In The Bank.” He made some adjustments to the lyrics before recording the track.

The song was subsequently played for friends, who encouraged him and praised the effort.

For Emeizy, the release was less about immediate commercial success and more about achieving a personal dream.
