EPL table: Arsenal reclaim No.1 spot with Newcastle victory
Arsenal have returned to the top of the Premier League table with a close 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday.
Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Burnley in Tuesday ended Arsenal’s 200-day reign at the top of the table.
Mikel Arteta’s side entered the match in second position, tied on points and goal differential.
And they got off to a great start at the Emirates, with Eberechi Eze sweeping home Kai Havertz’s layoff into the top corner.
There were no goals in the game as Arsenal withstood an onslaught from Newcastle in the second half.
Arsenal now have 73 points, three more than City, who have a game in hand.
