 Ex-Super Eagles Defender, Ajibade Babalade Dies At 48

Former Super Eagles defender, Ajibade Babalade, is dead.

Babalade, popularly called Kunde by his admirers, died in Ibadan on Friday, 4 September, 2020.

His death was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on its Twitter account.

Kunde was former captain of Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC.

He was the captain during their glory days in the 90s leading them to the final of the African Champions Cup in 1996 where 3SC lost on penalty shoot out to Zamalek of Egypt.

Kunde was also a member of the Super Eagles team to the African Cup of Nations in Senegal 1992 where the team won bronze beating Cameroon in the Losers’ final.
