Fashola to be summoned by Lagos Judicial Panel

The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola might be summoned by the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry for his discovery of a camera at the Lekki Tollgate Plaza following the shootings of peaceful protesters on 20th of October.

Counsel for some #EndSARS protesters’ Mr Adesina Ogunlana, on Friday made this request while cross-examining the Managing Director of the Lekki Concession Company, operator of the Lekki toll gate, Mr Abayomi Omomuwa.

According to Ogunlana, the minister needed to be summoned to explain his discovery of the camera at the tollgate plaza, to assist in the investigation of the incident.

Ogunlana who said the issue was crucial to his case asked the panel led by Justice Doris Okuwobi (retired) to summon the minister to appear before the panel.

The panel chairman, Justice Okuwobi, however, asked that Ogunlana follow proper procedure before Fashola can be summoned.

The minister, accompanied by Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and some South-West governors, in a tour of the tollgate plaza five days after the shooting incident, had found a camera which he said must have been planted by “some subversive elements”.
