 FUNAAB student dies amist Lagos unrest

A young man, identified as Oke, has been allegedly killed by security operatives in Lagos on Wednesday.

Although the circumstances surrounding the death of Oke are unclear, multiple reports allege he died from bullets fired by the police.

There have been reports of unrest in various parts of Lagos and the security operatives have allegedly used live ammunition in a bid to restore order.

The young man, said to be a graduate of Computer Science from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) had made a tweet on his account @O_Okee hours before his death, saying “Nigeria will not end me.”

Tributes have poured in for the deceased with some describing him as a “hero.”

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tacha, tweeted via her verified @Symply_Tacha handle: “I know HEAVEN Is a beautiful place because they’ve got you?

“Oke you died a HEROE! Oke we will never FORGET YOU! Oke where ever you’ll b, you’ll be in our HEARTS RIP ?? OKE Rest In Power Brother?? #Neverbeforgotten.”

Another Twitter user @LolaSalehu tweeted: “Oke I’m so sorry. So sorry Nigeria reduced you to this. Your dreams. I’m so sorry.

“You don’t have any pictures online and I don’t want that picture to be all they remember you by. Rest well please.”
