Hacktivist group Anonymous hacks NBC Twitter account

Popular hacktivist group Anonymous has hacked the official Twitter account of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) on Friday.
Speculations that the @nbcgovng account had been hacked rose this morning after a tweet from the account expressing support for the EndSARS movement.
The tweet read: #EndSARSBrutality
“#EndPoliceBrutalityInNigeriaNow
We #Anonymous Group Of Hackers will continue supporting the citizens of Nigeria.
Expect Us #Hacked.”
The hacked NBC Twitter account also posted a slew of tweets confirming suspicions that the notorious hacker collective was behind the attack.
“We #Anonymous have taken over all the NG Official Twitter’s Account to support #ENDPOLICEBRUTALITY.
WE’RE TOGETHER WITH NIGERIANS.
EXPECT UNEXPECTED
#OpNigeria
#Hacked @thecableng @4eyedmonk @MBuhari,” another tweet from the @nbcgovng account read.
Anonymous is a politically motivated hacktivist group that has mounted high-profile attacks against various governments, institutions and agencies.
Earlier this year, the group hacked the Minnesota Police Department website as punishment for the killing of American George Floyd.
