Health officers orientate mothers on immunisation

The health officials of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have appealed to mothers to get their kids immunised to prevent illness.

They explained that getting immunised will prevent the babies from infections and build their resistance to diseases.

Enlightening the mothers and would-be mothers on the importance of immunisation, the Health Educator, Hafsat Balogun, said the essence of doing a proper follow-up is to keep preparing the body to fight against unforeseen diseases.

According to her, immunisation of kids is key and should be taken seriously since the kids cannot express themselves appropriately but can only signal their feelings.

Also speaking, the Apex Nurse, Ejigbo LCDA, Nurse Iyabode Ikhianosime cautioned mothers to beware of cervical cancer while encouraging them to visit medical health centres for free check-up.

She explained that cancer can affect the deeper tissues of their cervix and may spread to other parts of their body if not treated on time.

The Apex Community Health Officer, Kelani Olusola, together with the chairman of the Health and Environment subcommittee of Ejigbo Community Development Committee (CDC), Elder Amos Johnson, appreciated the efforts of the mobilisation committee for sensitising residents in the six wards in the local council area, advising mothers to monitor their kids.
