JAMB Sets Conditions For CBT Centres Ahead Of 2027 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said only Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres that meet its prescribed requirements will be accredited to conduct the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The board disclosed this on Thursday following a meeting between its Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, and the leadership of the Chief External Examiners.
According to JAMB, the meeting focused on preparations for the accreditation exercise and the readiness of examination officials ahead of the 2027 UTME.
The board said the exercise would assess the facilities and operational capacity of CBT centres to determine their suitability for the examination.
It stressed that centres must satisfy its requirements before they can be approved to host candidates.
“Only centres that meet JAMB’s standards will be accredited to host the examination. For candidates, that means a fair and secure place to sit the UTME, wherever they write it,” the board stated.
JAMB said the measure was aimed at providing candidates with a safe and conducive examination environment, while reducing challenges associated with computer-based tests.
The board added that compliance with its accreditation requirements remained compulsory for all centres seeking approval to participate in the 2027 examination.
