 Kidnapped medical doctor regains freedom, Kogi State

Medical doctor, Yahaya Ebiloma, who was kidnapped alongside his colleague on Tuesday has regained freedom.

DSP William Aya, spokesman of the Kogi State Police Command, confirmed that the doctor was released on Friday at about 11:00pm.

Dr. Ebiloma, who worked with Zonal Hospital, Ankpa, was kidnapped on Tuesday, 6th of October while his colleague, Dr Kelechi Mgbahurike of Christ the King Hospital, Anyigba was abducted on Wednesday 7th of October.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, Kogi State chapter, Dr Oyiguh Simeon Omakoji and Secretary Dr Famotele Tolorunju, on the 9th of October, stated that the kidnappers were in contact with the families of the doctors and were demanding ransom.

The association appealed to the Kogi State Government to work with security agencies and help secure the release of the doctors.

Dr. Kelechi Mgbahurike, however, is yet to be freed by the abductors.
