A prime suspect has confessed the role he played in the abduction of Alhaji Yusuf in Zamfara state.

The 30-year-old narrated how he facilitated an abduction during a recent interview with TVC News.

The Zamfara state Command of the Nigerian Police Force has arrested the gang responsible for the abduction of Alhaji Yusuf, a brother to one of the governorship aspirants in the 2019 election in Zamfara State.

Alhaji Yusuf reportedly got abducted from his home in 2019. He got released after N7 million ransom was paid to the abductors.

However, a 30-year-old final-year student of a private University in Zamfara State has been fingered as the prime suspect in the kidnap case.

During an interview, the suspect said, “I did not participate in the kidnapping. I only showed the victim’s house. They paid me N530,000 from the N7 million ransom after the operation was concluded.”

The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, reportedly interrogated the suspect in his office a few days ago.
