Lagos Police order massive deployment for Easter celebrations
The Lagos State Police Command has announced the deployment of personnel and operational resources to critical locations across the state to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter holiday.
SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this in a statement made on Friday.
According to the statement, Tijani Fatai, Commissioner of Police, authorised the deployment of police to vital places such as religious centers, recreational facilities, major roads, transit hubs, and other essential public infrastructure to provide complete security coverage.
The Command also revealed that special attention has been given to riverine communities, with the Marine Police strategically positioned to enhance surveillance and patrol operations along waterways, aimed at preventing criminal activities and ensuring safety.
Traffic management arrangements have been put in place in collaboration with relevant agencies to ensure smooth vehicular movement across the state throughout the festive period.
The Commissioner of Police extended Easter greetings to Christian faithful and urged residents to reflect on the values of love, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence associated with the season.
He reassured Lagos residents of the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in achieving effective policing.
Residents were advised to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to security agencies.
