Lagos Police Raid Cult Hotspot, Arrest Suspected Eiye Member, Recover Pistol
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity during a raid on a suspected cult hotspot in the state.
The suspect was arrested during an operation by police operatives, who also recovered a locally made pistol from him.
The command said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to tackle cultism and other forms of criminality in the state.
The arrest and recovery of the firearm were disclosed by the Lagos State Police Command on Friday.
The police said the suspect is currently assisting investigators with information that could aid further investigation into cult-related activities in the area.
The command reiterated its commitment to strengthening security operations and ensuring that residents and communities across Lagos are protected from criminal activities.
The police also urged residents to continue providing credible information that could assist security agencies in identifying and apprehending suspected criminals.
The suspect is expected to face prosecution after the completion of the investigation.
