Lagos prosecutes over 100 suspects for alleged public disorder

The Lagos State Government has arraigned more than 100 suspects before the Lagos State Special Offences Mobile Court in Bolade, Oshodi, over alleged acts of public disorder.

The suspects were brought before the court as part of the state government’s efforts to address activities allegedly disrupting public order across the state.

The prosecution followed their arrest for various offences linked to public disorder, with the authorities presenting the cases before the Special Offences Mobile Court.

The state government said the exercise was aimed at ensuring that individuals accused of violating public order laws face due process.

The cases are expected to proceed before the court, where the suspects will have the opportunity to respond to the allegations against them.

The development comes amid increased enforcement of laws regulating public conduct and activities considered capable of disrupting peace and order in Lagos.

Authorities have continued to warn residents against acts that could threaten public safety or obstruct lawful activities across the state.
