 Three LAUTECH Lecturers ranked among world top scientists

Three Lecturers of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, have been ranked among top world scientists.

A document recently released by Elsevier B. V (Netherlands) and a team of researchers led by Prof. John P.A. loannidis from Stanford University, USA displayed comprehensive list of top two percent scholars across all fields world-wide based on metrics obtained from Scopus, the world acclaimed largest database of peer-reviewed scholarly documents.

The three scholars were identified as : Professors Abass Abiola Olajire, Olugbenga Solomon Bello and Agbaje Lateef all of LAUTECH.

The data sets of the research which can be freely accessed on Mendeley showed that Olajire (Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry), Bello (Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry), and Lateef (Department of Pure and Applied Biology) of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Nigeria, ranked 3rd, 35th and 61st in Nigeria respectively.

A further analysis of the data showed that Olajire ranks 128th of 66,925 scholars in Environmental Sciences, Bello ranks 582nd of 55,697 scholars in Chemical Engineering, and Lateef ranks 757th of 50,343 scholars in Biotechnology world-wide.

Prof. Olajire started his career as a foundation academic staff of LAUTECH in 1990, both Bello and Lateef are members of the Alumni Association of the University.

Prof. Olajire is a Professor of Industrial/Environmental Chemistry, Prof. Bello is a Professor of Physical Chemistry, while Prof. Lateef is a Professor of Microbiology and also the Head of LAUTECH Nanotechnology Research Group (NANO+).
