Lockdown Ease: Aswani Market Day shifted to Wednesday

Following the guidelines rolled out by the Lagos State Government to restrict large gathering and maintain social distancing during the lockdown ease, the Chairman of Isolo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Hon. Shamsudeen OlaleyeIn has ordered that the popular Aswani Market Day be shifted from Tuesdays to Wednesdays.

The shift, according to the Executive Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye, is necessitated by the fact that Tuesday does not fall within the days earmarked for opening of markets by the state government.

Part of the guidelines is that markets should open three times in a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Olaleye therefore appealed to marketers to take advantage of the widow provided by government to conduct their tradings on Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays.

“The shift In market day will remain until further directive by the state government on its curtailment plans on COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.
