Lockdown: Violators, travellers risk 14-day quarantine – Kaduna Govt
Traveling to Kaduna state territory now requires proper information as the State Government on Wednesday warned travellers into the state against violating the lockdown order imposed to tackle the spread of coronavirus and threatens 14-day quarantine of violators.
According to the government, no traveller is allowed into the state during curfew hours.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, who gave the warning said any traveller who breached the order risked being quarantined in its isolation facility for 14 days.
Aruwan stated this at the end of the meeting of the State Standing Committee on COVID-19 on Wednesday in Kaduna.
The commissioner said the latest order to travellers into the state during curfew hours, took effect as from Thursday (today).
“Those denied entry will be asked to return to where they were coming from. Those who express a preference for entering Kaduna State will then be taken to spend 14 days in an isolation facility,” he said in a statement.
“Persons without valid passes are strongly advised to cancel any plans to travel to Kaduna State.
“Security agencies have firm instructions to turn back people at entry points into the state like the Kaduna-Abuja road, Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road, Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road, Kachia Road, the Bwari-Jere-Kagarko Road, Gumel-Kwoi-Keffi road, Zaria-Funtua Road and the Jos-Manchock Road.
“This order also affects other entry and exit points into the state that may not be listed here.”
