 Manchester United knock fierce rivals ‘Liverpool’ out of FA Cup

In a fierce and much anticipated encounter, Manchester United finished the match with the bragging rights as they knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup fourth round, to progress to the fifth round.

Following the goaless draw in the league when the two sides met few weeks ago, Manchester United and Liverpool had to lock horns once again in the fourth round of the FA Cup, and the match lived up to its expectations.

Liverpool came into this match on the back of poor results in the league that had seen them fail to score a league goal in 4 matches, however their fortunes seemed to be turning around when
Mohammed Salah opened the scoring for the visitors at Old Trafford with a chipped finish past Dean Henderson following a delightful through ball from Roberto Firmino.

The hosts however responded through Mason Greenwood, who finished off an exquisite pass from Marcus Rashford MBE.
Greenwood then turned provider for Rashford to complete the turnaround for the hosts.

The drama in this neatly contested encounter wasn’t over however as Salah equalized for the visitors following another assist by Firmino

Bruno Fernandes  came off the bench with a moment of magic to restore the host’s lead with a magnificent free kick from 25 metres, this goal proved to be decisive in sealing the victory for Manchester united, and knocking out Liverpool from the FA Cup.

Liverpool’s poor form continues unfortunately, and they will be hoping they can turn around their fortunes sooner rather than later, however the superior red after this encounter turned out to be Manchester United.
