“Missing girl is not our student” — LASPOTECH

The Lagos State Polytechnic has denied reports that Shalewa Adebowale, a 19-year old declared missing, is its student.

Director of Information and Public Relations for LASPOTECH, Olarewaju Kuye, made this known in a statement on Monday.

According to reports, Shalewa left her parents’ home at Olorungbon Street in Anthony Village, Lagos, on October 10 to write an exam.

She is said to have to stayed the night at a cousin’s house, as the exam ended late. She left the cousin’s apartment the following day and proceeded to board a bus-stop to take her to Iyana-Ipaja.

However, Shalewa’s location has remained since then, with her father saying he last heard from her on the night of October 11 when she claimed to be “dying” in a call.

LASPOTECH has come out to say the missing girl is not one of its students.

The missing young lady is not a student of the Lagos State Polytechnic as your headline reads. According to your report, she is a nursing student and the polytechnic does not offer the course. Besides, the polytechnic does not have a campus at Ojo,” Kuye stated in the statement.
