Popular music artiste, Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, during a live interview with the Nigeria Police Force, has kicked against the #EndSARS campaign.

In the live interview with the Nigeria Police Force spokeperson, DCP Frank Mba, the musician said there was no need to disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the police.

According to him, there was no need for disbandment, the needed action was to reform the unit.

“Why will you say they should end SARS? If you end SARS, it means they should end EFCC and other agencies. All we have to do is get them off the road.”

Earlier this morning, the musician had suspended the planned protest against police brutality in Nigeria.

He made this announcement on his official twitter handle, stating that changes are being made at the moment.

According to him, the protest won’t hold anymore because a lot of changes were being made.

He later explained that the reason for the cancellation of the protest was not as a result of threat, but concern for people’s safety and he saw that the police had issued a statement.
