 Nassarawa Governor Warns Against Diversion Of Covid-19 Relief Materials

Nassarawa Stata Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has warned those in charge of distributing Covid-19 relief materials in the state against diverting such materials to benefit themselves.

The Governor, stating this while kicking of distribution of relief materials in the state, said the Covid-19 Palliative Committee would be held responsible for any hiccups in the distribution process.

Recently, the Nassarawa State Government took delivery of about thirty-five trucks containing food items, donated by the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) to help to bolster the government’s effort to reduce hunger among the state’s poorest citizens.

According to reports, items donated included 43,246 cartons of noodles, 20,590 cartons of macaroni, 21,000 bags of rice, 18,000 bags of semovita, 240,000 cartons of sugar, 181,000 bags of salt and 600 gallons of vegetable oil.

Governor Sule reassured citizens that his government was dedicated to alleviating the struggle of the Nassarawa residents.

“Today’s event is therefore in furtherance of our commitment to continue to provide succour to the vulnerable households and the poorest across the nooks and crannies of the State”.

“It is important to note that these food items are to be shared to the poorest of the poor who have no source of income to cater for their daily needs. In this wise, salary earners, businessmen and other privileged people are exempted from this intervention”, he added.
