50 people, on Monday, were prosecuted for violating the protocol on the use of face mask in public places in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
The violators were arraigned at the mobile court at the governor’s office and asked to serve two hours of community service.
The state government had earlier in a circular issued by the State Head of Service, Selimot Ottun, threatened to arrest and prosecute those caught without using face masks, with effect from February 22, 2021.
The task force on Monday, while enforcing the law, had arrested and charged fifty persons to the mobile court.
