Ondo female lawmaker denies expulsion from APC

By Emmanuel Awosika

Hon. Favour Semilore-Tomomewo, a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, has denied her alleged expulsion from the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.

She said this in a statement released on Friday and made available to newsmen in Okitipupa, Ondo State.

Recall that reports had emerged of the lawmaker, who represents Ilaje Constituency II, being expelled from the APC over alleged anti-party activities.

The reports said that Mrs. Semilore-Tomomewo had received news of her expulsion through a letter dated Oct. 13 and signed by Olamigoke Ajimuda and Taid Omosule, Chairman and Secretary respectively for APC, Ilaje Constituency.

However, the lawmaker debunked the reports as false, urging members of her constituency to disregard them.

Semilore-Tomomewo, who is the only female member of the Ondo House of Assembly, said she was not informed of her expulsion and did not receive any letter to that effect, contrary to rumors.

She stated:“I have been restrained not to react to some gullible-minded persons who have been brainwashed and are being used as tools of destruction to concoct the letter of my purported expulsion.

“I make bold to tell all and sundry that I remain a bona fide member of the APC, since the purported expulsion letter has neither been transmitted to me nor received by me.”
