Pastor Accuses Wife Of Ruining His Calling, Asks Court To Dissolve Marriage

By Emmanuel Awosika

A customary court sitting in Mapo, Ibadan dissolved a 17-year old union between a pastor, Adebayo Bamidele, and his wife, Felicia, after he accused his wife of destroying his calling.

According to the pastor, his wife had done several things that were destroying his spiritual calling.

He said she had made damaging allegations against him before members of the congregation.

“She has rendered me jobless. My members have all left my church,” he added.

Bamidele went further to say his wife’s allegations led some members of his congregation to attack him.

“Felicia told them that I was using black magic and charms to take away their glory. They beat me mercilessly, tore my clothes, I almost died.

“She now claims to own the church. The truth is that we contributed resources to build the church, I have lost my means of sustenance to her evil antics against me,” he said.

On her part, Felicia said she was content with the dissolution of the marriage, but said Bamidele must return the N340,000 she contributed to the establishment of the church.

She also accused her husband of manipulation, saying she later noticed he was “manipulating me spiritually and physically.”

“Sometimes, he gives me charms to put under my pillow at night, I saw that my life was no longer the same,” she explained.

The presiding judge, Ademola Odunade, ordered the dissolution of the marriage, as both individuals were not ready to settle their differences.
