By Emmanuel Awosika
Police have arrested some activists who were peacefully protesting the hike in petrol prices across the country.
This was made known in a report by Adeola Soetan, a journalist. According to her, security operatives waylaid and arrested the activists around Lawson Road, Ojuelegba, Lagos State.
The arrested protesters were then taken in four Area C Police Command vehicles, accompanied by fully armed terror police.
Some of the arrested activists include Mrs Basirat Ogunlana, Mrs Goke Akinrogunde, Sina Odugbemi and others whose names are yet to be known.
The activists, comprising members of Socialist organizations, human rights bodies and pro-democracy groups in the country had earlier participated in the JAF mobilisation and sensitization rally before embarking on a protest which was dispelled by security operatives.
