 Police arrest two suspects for allegedly gang raping 14-year old girl

The Ogun State Police Command has announced arrest of two suspects for allegedly gang raping a 14 years old girl (name withheld).

The two men Michael Hammed Azeez (20 years) and Adeola Ogunseye (22 years) were arrested following a complaint lodged at Owode Egba divisional headquarters by the mother of the victim who reported that her daughter was abducted by the two suspects on the 3rd of November 2020 at about 8:30 pm and taken to an unknown place where the duo took turns to forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.

In a statement on Monday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed arrest of the culprits, satated that the victim’s mother explained that the victim was later found seriously battered along school road at Owode Egba in Obafemi Owode local government area of the state.

He said: “On the strength of the report, the DPO of Owode Egba division, CSP Mathew Ediae, mobilized his detectives to the area where the two suspects identified by the victim were apprehended. The house of the suspects were subsequently searched and the torn pants of the victim was recovered there in.

“The victim was quickly taken to Owode Egba general hospital for medical treatment.”

He said the Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.
