Sanwo-Olu inspects vandalised Lagos-Badagry Bridge, vows action
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inspected sections of the Lagos-Badagry Bridge reportedly affected by vandalism and warned that those responsible would face the law.
Sanwo-Olu visited the bridge after reports emerged that suspected vandals had removed iron rods and other components from parts of the structure.
The governor expressed concern over the development, stressing that the destruction of critical infrastructure could endanger motorists and other road users.
He directed relevant authorities to intensify efforts to protect the bridge and other public assets across the state.
Sanwo-Olu also warned individuals involved in vandalising government infrastructure to desist, noting that the state would take appropriate action against anyone found culpable.
The governor’s inspection comes amid growing concerns over the vandalism of public infrastructure in different parts of Lagos, with authorities stepping up measures to prevent further damage.
