Senator escapes assassination attempt

Senator Adelere Oriolowo, of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was attacked by suspected thugs during a constituency meeting in Ikire, Osun State.
The senator was reported to have been attacked by thugs with cutlasses and other weapons during a constituency meeting organised by Osun West stakeholders.
The Senator was protected and whisked be away to safety by security details.
It was learnt that as he was whisked away to safety, thugs attacked other party members at the meeting.
Oriolowo confirmed this incident in a post on Facebook.
“Just escaped an Assassination attempt on my life and that of my entourage. To God be the glory, we are safe and alive. God is my helper, my shelter and my fortress, I fear no evil. -AAO” he wrote.
