Sowore Leads Protest To Police Headquarters Over Alleged Attack In Ekiti
Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, on Tuesday led a protest to the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja over the alleged attack on him and members of his team in Ekiti State.
The protesters demanded the arrest and prosecution of individuals allegedly involved in the October 30 incident in Ado-Ekiti, insisting that those responsible must be held accountable.
The demonstration came amid growing controversy over the police investigation into the incident, which Sowore has described as an assassination attempt.
The activist and his supporters called for an independent investigation into the attack, including allegations that some security operatives were involved in the incident or had interfered with evidence.
They also demanded that the investigation identify not only the alleged attackers but anyone who may have sponsored or coordinated the assault.
