A Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja on Tuesday remanded three suspects charged with robbery in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, pending receipt of legal advice by the court.

The suspects, namely Michael Adeosun, 20; Dare Atunde, 23; and Adeniyi Okunolye, 23 allegedly robbed one Mr. Wasiu Okunu of N65,000 and other valuables on Sept. 10 at about 5.50 a.m. in Ajegunle, Lagos.

The Magistrate, Mr. A.O.O Fajana, refused the pleas of the accused and instructed the prosecution to send the case file to the Lagos State Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

He also adjourned the case to December 7 for hearing.

The prosecution, led by Sgt. Kenrich Nomayo, accused the trio of robbing the victim of his money and gadgets with a locally produced gun.

He said: “The defendants robbed the complainant of his iPhone 8+, one HP laptop, one Tecno phone and N65,000 cash, totalling N365,000.”

The prosecution said the defendants had flouted 297(1) (2) (a) (b) and 299 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015, (Revised).
