The operation was carried out by personnel of the 81 Division in collaboration with other security agencies following intelligence reports on suspected illegal refining activities.

According to the Army, the suspects were apprehended at the site, where security operatives recovered equipment and materials believed to have been used for illegal oil bunkering.

The military said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat crude oil theft, illegal refining and other economic crimes in the state.
