 Two policemen feared dead as armed robbers attack bullion van in Ibadan

Two policemen were feared dead following an armed robbery attack on a billion van at the Iwo Road area of Ibadan, Thursday afternoon.

It was gathered that the attackers were successful as they carted away money from the billion van.

It was further learnt that the bullion van was attacked shortly after it left one of the banks in Ibadan, located a few metres away from the Testing Ground Police station, which houses one of the area commands of the Nigeria Police Force in the state.

An eyewitness report claimed two police officers escorting the bullion van were killed during the attack.

The gunmen were said to have shot sporadically to scare passersby while the operation lasted.

One of the sources from the scene of the attack said, “They killed the policemen and some innocent citizens.”

Police in the state is yet to confirm the incident when this report was filed.
