Underaged Voters: INEC under pressure in Borno

By Dayo Badmus,

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has landed in fresh criticism over the registration of underage voters in the northern part of the country.

This allegation was made known by a labour party stalwart who shared screenshots of the voters as captured on INEC’s website.

In the screenshots, the voters captured were from Borno state and even though their date of birth reads 1992, they have the faces of children not up to 18 years.

It is worthy of being noted that the APC vice president candidate, Kashim Shettima is from Borno state and this has raised eyebrows on the social media.

Many have accused the INEC of compromise when the commission is expected to take their grounds for the 2023 general elections.
