The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has assured the residents of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of intensified security as he promised to facilitate deployment of more Police officers to the area.

He made the promise while commissioning the refurbished and newly constructed office complex at Ejigbo Divisional Headquarters on Wednesday, October 6, 2020.

The complex was refurbished and some new offices were built by the Chief Executive Officer of Grooming International Centre, Dr. Godwin Nwabunka, who described his gesture as a reflection of the Community Policing agenda of the Inspector-General of Police, with a view to achieving effective policing of Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

He also commended the Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Monsuru Bello Obe for donating two Toyota Siena Buses to Ejigbo Division to boost its operational engagements and provide adequate security for all residents in the Local Government Area.

“On our part, it will be my pleasure to set in motion actions for deployment of additional Police officers to Ejigbo; and judiciously utilize the vehicles for purposes which they are meant in order to deliver on your security needs.

“Let me use this medium to assure Lagosians that all hands are on the desk to ensure a crime-free yuletide season. I must also express a strong warning to those planning to execute any form of criminality to tame themselves or be tamed by our officers as we have decided to make Lagos State uninhabitable to criminal elements.

“To achieve this, we seek cooperation of Lagosians in sharing information on crimes and suspected criminals
and alerting us promptly about criminal activities in their areas for decisive police action.

“I hereby commend officers and men of this Division for their extraordinary service delivery, while advising them and all police personnel in the state to be humane, civil, and committed to the present ongoing reforms in the Nigeria Police,” he said.

He therefore appreciated the donors for supporting the police in the community.

“Permit me to state that through deliberate efforts that accord our grand design for the Police in Lagos State, Ejigbo Police Division has achieved an unprecedented collaboration between the Police in the entire area under the Division and the law-abiding members of the Ejigbo community.

“Distinguished guests, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police,
IGP Muhammed Abubakar Adamu, NPM, mni, officers, and men of
the Lagos State Command, most especially, in Ejigbo LCDA, I sincerely appreciate the Chief Executive Officer of Grooming People for Better Livelihood Centre, his Governing Board, and the
entire Centre for this gesture.

“Indeed, Grooming has lived up to its name as this structure, and the general upliftment of the Station will contribute enormously to our vision of “Grooming” the officers and men of the Command to imbibe globally acceptable Police practices.

“I equally want to thank Mr. Paul Adeleke, who aspired for the additional office building and gave it wings to fly by procuring the building plans.

“I must not forget the role of our royal father, Kabiyesi, Oba Moruf Ojoola, who donated 1000 blocks that were later used for the PCRCbuilding. Kabiyesi, we are very proud of you and grateful for your spiritual, moral, and material assistance.

“To all others whose goodwill supported us in different ways, that made this project see the light of the day, we are always very humbled by your various efforts and contributions.

“Let me, at this point; express my most profound appreciation to the indefatigable Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Honourable Monsuru Oloyede-Bello. His support to the Police Division is quite outstanding and commendable. His donation of two (2) new patrol Sienna Vans today for the patrol of communities in Ejigbo LCDA is highly commendable and worthy of emulation by other public office holders.”
