 Woman arrested for selling her mistress’ newborn

A woman named Blessing Okon-Etim, has been paraded by the Police Command in Cross River State for selling a newborn belonging to her mistress.

Okon-Etim, who confessed to having sold her three-month-old baby for N150, 000, also confessed to have sold a newborn belonging to her mistress, the crime for which she is arrested.

The Nation reports that the mother of the newborn stolen and sold by the suspect died after delivery.

Okon-Etim, 23, was asked by her mistress, who was in the custody of the newborn, to take the infant to a relative, rather she got in contact with a middle man, who helped in selling the child to someone in Umuahia, Abia State, at N150, 000. The same middleman reportedly helped in selling Okon-Etim’s three-month-old child.

The Police Commissioner in Cross River State, Alhassan Aminu, paraded Okon-Etim along with 33 other suspects for sundry crimes.
