 World Teachers’ Day: Oliyide bags NUT Award

In recognition of his immense contribution to the development of education sector in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, including Isolo and Ejigbo LCDAs, a former Lagos House of Assembly aspirant, Hon. Abdulhafees Ayodele Oliyide, has been honoured with a meritorious award by the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Oshodi-Isolo LG branch.
Oliyide was given Gratitude Award during teachers’ the celebration held at Teachers House, Methodist Primary School, Oshodi Road, Oshodi.
While receiving the award, Oliyide commended the teachers for their unrelenting efforts towards building the nation and humanity.
He said the role of the teachers in the society is a topnotch which cannot be compromised.
He, therefore, pledged that his NGO – OPAS Africa NGO will collaborate with the Union to further aid the development of education sector in the community.
“I feel honoured with the award, this is an encouragement to do more in the education sector and invitation to all individuals to support the education of our children. On my own, I shall continue to collaborate with the Union to dole out supportive aids to the teachers and students through my NGO.”
He said he would soon be rolling out some programmes to benefit the students within the community.
Also honoured is the Member, House of Representatives in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Ganiyu Johnson who bagged Leadership Award.
Johnson, who was represented by Hon. Asalejo, appreciated the Union for the award as he promised the union more inclusion in his delivery of dividends of democracy.
The Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Monsuru Bello (Obe) was also given Leadership Awards but was not present at the even to receive the award.
