 24 killed as terrorists attack Adamawa community

At least 24 villagers have been killed in Dabna community, Hong Local Council of Adamawa State, during a raid by suspected Boko Haram terrorists on Wednesday.

The community is said to have come under attack in the early hours of Wednesday, with insurgents shooting sporadically and setting houses and shops ablaze.

Scores have reportedly fled their ancestral homes for safety due to the attack.

In a report by Guardian, it was stated that about 18 dead bodies were also discovered in the bush by military in Garka, the hometown of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.

The District Head of Dabna, Simon Yakub, confirmed that 24 dead bodies had been recovered and that one person was seriously injured.

He added that the terrorists burnt all the churches in the village.

As of noon yesterday, the Boko Haram fighters were reportedly still operating within the area.

Sources within the military say a joint security task force comprising of the Army, Airforce, and the Police, have been drafted to the embattled communities.
