The Lagos State Government has announced that the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge will be opened for public use this week.

The disclosure was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor, Gboyega Akosile.

According to the statement, the bridge is part of projects to be inaugurated during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state.

“Among the iconic projects that will be commissioned… include the newly constructed Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge,” the statement said.

The government said the bridge is expected to ease traffic along key routes, including Ojota, Maryland, Mende, Opebi, and Allen, which serve as major links to Ikeja.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said the project provides a direct connection between Ikeja and Ojota, areas that previously had limited road access.

The bridge is among several projects scheduled for inauguration during the President’s two-day visit to Lagos.

Construction of the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge and its approach roads was flagged off on January 26, 2022, by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The government also said traffic management measures have been put in place ahead of the commissioning, with officials deployed to manage vehicular movement during the visit.
